Sinead and the Shinners: “Sometimes you have to creep before you crawl.”

As noted earlier, attracting the attention of celebrities a tricky business for political parties, even if it’s not Sinead O’Connor (she hasn’t gone away you know).

Francie Molloy in what reads like an extended [and uninterrupted] electoral message as he prepares to defend the Mid Ulster seat he won in cruise control, had his own inimitable message for Sinead…

“Sinead didn’t start off well by first of all looking for the leadership to resign – sometimes you have to creep before you crawl.”

This was the same Francie Molloy who was suspended from the party for criticizing the party’s stance on RPA saying fifteen would represent the Six Counties of the North better than the Seven his party wanted.

Seems they literally met half way on that one in agreement with their partners in the DUP and others.

Was this taken from the 2 page Mid Ulster Mail advert for the coming election, quite a few points in there albeit in election mode, the health comments made me giggle, the Sinead one though I thought of differently after all the talk of Mid Ulster was Franice being put out to stud in Westminster to keep him away from internal leadership challenges?

I think you would be the last person Hugh to know anything about SF internal politics. You have stood against SF umpteen times, been trounced umpteen times and have the brass neck to come on here as some sort of disinterested political commentator. Are you going to give it another go in May?

  • Kevin Breslin

I think Hugh does has a point, why does Molloy think Sinead’s failed attempt at entry (or possibly entryism) into Sinn Féin is a relevant matter for his constituents?

  • sean treacy

Francie was asked about Sinead during an interview with the Mid ulster mail.So as usual Hugh does NOT have a point and if you and Hugh have a problem take it up with the newspaper and the journalist concerned.

A very revealing statement. In order to do well in Sinnerdom you must first learn to creep and then to crawl.

It’s been seven hours and fifteen days since you took your love away.
