Northern Irish film makes the Oscars…

A short film starring Belfast born, New York based actor Ciaran Hinds has just made the Oscar nomination list for the Live Action Short Film category… It’s written, directed and produced by Belfast native and double Oscar-nominated screenwriter and director Terry George. You can pick up more from the film’s website:

Terry has been nominated for two Oscars before: Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium in 1993 for ‘In the Name of the Father’ and Best Writing, Original Screenplay for ‘Hotel Rwanda’ in 2004. H/T to Loughshore for the heads up… It’s filmed entirely at, erm, Van Morrison’s Coney Island (which, for those of you who’ve been there is not much of an island these days)…
