Slugger Live: First Assembly hustings this evening

We have a few experimental things planned for next week as the southern General Elections comes to a climax. But this evening we draw the focus back closer home. We’re teaming up with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors to bring you a live stream of their election focused debate on the economy.

Jim FitzPatick will be in the chair and it starts at about 6pm…

So whilst the event itself takes place at the University of Ulster, you’ll be able to watch the proceedings live here on Slugger, and to comment directly via our blog or through Twitter, using hashtags: #AE11 #SlgrLive or #RICSLive.

Off topic but just read in the BT that ukip are fielding 8 canditates in the Assembly elections. Anyone have any more info. What constituencies are they in? Will anyone vote for them??

    Will look into it!

The office was opened this lunchtime I believe and there is a meeting on right now in the Marine Court Hotel in Bangor, where Nigel Farage is speaking.

I’m hoping we’ll have an original report tomorrow. In the meantime what did people think about #ae11 hustings?

It was good, a bit hectic at times, there was a running commentary and anything Slugger missed I picked up from Alan in Belfast. Thanks to all.
