Gary Moore dies…

It’s a bit of a shocker when someone dies young. I reckon that when Gary Moore was on the way up 57 would have seemed old enough. Perhaps its a sign of approaching age that a man who was a role model for some who were quite a bit younger, seems like robbery.

Here’s Shuggy

I’m cursed to be only good enough at the guitar to be able to recognise people who actually know what they are doing. Gary Moore was one of these.

Another young genius with no talent for guff

A tragedy for such a talented musician to die at a relatively young age. From the heavy rock sound of Thin Lizzy to the more mellow bluesy feel of “Parisian Walkways” or “Still got the blues”he covered a broad spectrum.

I could not have put it better.
The fact that people the same age or a few months younger than me are dying is scary.
And to those of us who ever bought a guitar and a Bert Weedon tutorial book he was an inspiration.

Great musician, after reading the obituries from NI this weekend this man was unique in the fact that he transversed all politics & religion and brought so much pleasure with his music to the people of Northern Ireland.

Gary Moore was one if not the greatest talents ever to leave our shores. His talent was recognised & admired throughout the world. My sympathy goes to his family and friends at this sad time.

Many a night headbanging in the SFX to Gary Moore . Phil is warming your seat . RIP …

There are few musicians to whom the term GREAT truthfully applies. Gary Moore was in that select band. RIP.

death is Just a heartbeat away.

  • Gerry Lvs castro

Another genuine Rock legend has gone way too young. That’s Gerry Rafferty, Japan’s Mick Karn and now Gary Moore, all in 2011.

The fact that Wikipedia are classing his death as ‘acute shellfish poisoning’ makes it seem even more senseless.

    He will certainly be missed.
