Faic bainte amach don Ghaeilge?

Tá cuma ar an scéal go bhfuil sé beartaithe ‘straitéis’ a bheith ann don Ghaeilge mar thoradh ar na cainteanna ar siúil i gCaisleán Chroimghlinne. Beidh le feiceáil cad a bheadh i gceist ach tá dualgas ar a DCAL agus ar Nelson McCausland straitéis a chur ar bun don Ghaeilge cheanna féin, rud atá Nelson ag déanamh a sheacht ndícheall chun moill a chur air, seans nach bhfuil i gceist sa straitéis seo ach an tAire ag cúlú siar céim nó dhó óna chogadh i gconne na Gaeilge? Is doiligh smaoineamh ar straitéis mar dhul chun cinn ar bith áfach.

Tá sé dearbhaithe ag POBAL go leanann an ‘troid’ ar son son Acht na Gaeilge beag beann ar thoradh na gcainteanna seo.

Is é, déarfainn nach mbeadh mórán sa straitéis seo a chuirfeadh ar bís muid.

Mar a deir tú, ní mór do DCAL straitéis a dhéanamh amach don Ghaeilge cibé ar bith. Seans áfach go ndearna Sinn Féin iarracht rudaí eile a chur isteach chomh maith? Airgead cinnte don Chiste Craoltóireachta b’fhéidir, nó do na meáin eile, nó do chomharthaí bóithre? Ar ndóigh ní dócha gur tharla sé sin ag na cainteanna seo ach beidh sé spéisiúil fáil amach cad é a bheas ann.

Agus cé go bhfuil ‘Irish Language Strategy’ luaite san alt seo, tabhair faoi deara gur luaigh Ó Máirtín ‘Irish Language Act’ uair amháin chomh maith – http://www.4ni.co.uk/northern_ireland_news.asp?id=106109

Sorry GGN, I’m going to have to write this in English, because if Google translates from English to Irish like it mashes the Irish to English then I fear you would have no hope of understanding me.

I agree that talk of a strategy rather than an act is hardly something to write home about, but at least it seems to be back on the agenda instead of on the backburner.

As for the community continuing the ‘troid’, well that’s good, for it seems that progress has only really been made when it’s been fought for from the grass roots.

Ceart ar fad agat / Very true Jimmy.

    Ar aghaidh linn!

Chreid mé i gcónaí go raibh níos mó tacaíochta don Ghaeilge ag an ghnáthbhall de Shinn Féin ná ag an cheannasaíocht. Níl sa Ghaeilge ach licín eile sa ‘phróiseas’
