Send me your ‘not in Agreement’ news

My sulk is over and I’m back.

I intend a weekly ‘blogburst’ style piece reviewing left, republican and general opinion dissenting from the ‘Agreement’ and Status Quo politics. Once a week I’ll link-up groups, campaigns and opinion that don’t buy into the agenda set by Stormont parties, fellow travellers and/or the MSM.

A weekly roundup of outsiders.

It’ll kick off Sunday week and I’d appreciate links, press releases, blogs etc. on/from those opposing or contesting the mainstream ‘processing’ agenda.

    hey maeg it was funny!

welcome back mark, although will prob regret saying that when i read your posts, but its good to get an insight in a view i would know little about, whilst im a bit more to the right of centre i guess, i think the far left needs listened to more, if they could just ditch the early 20th C thinking. Anyways good luck with the posts.

The words ‘ride’ and ‘dead horse’ come to mind. I’m not éirigí/CIRA/RIRA?whatever. What the f**k are you? A harpie or a misfit?

  • Pancho’s Horse

So what? At least Mark seemed to question issues rather than accept various party lines.

By the way, what about PA and ‘F’C this weather? Recently retired or what??? Would they be misfits??

    Including the TUV?

  • Pancho’s Horse

I don’t think Mark is so much questioning issues as thrashing around looking for a(nother) party to join.

Back, is it? Good. I’m already sharpening my claws… I mean pen.

  • Mark McGregor

Good man Rory. I like a hard but fair fight.

“reviewing left, republican and general opinion” – what does that mean?: Why did you need to add “left” and “republican” when you’re supposed also to be going to blog on “general opinion”. Why not add feminist, conservative, liberal, Scottish nationalist, etc, etc? Ah, mirabile dictu, I see it now! You want us to conflate “left” and “republican” – meaning, in the present case, identifying to the point of confusion one or more concepts as sharing the same root ideas. Now if we’re talking French Revolution, I’ll go with you there; but to imply as you clearly do, that republicanism as represented by its Irish manifestation after about 1910 is/was a progressive leftist venture I simply can’t wear that, Connolly notwithstanding – Austen Morgan memorably described Connolly as having tumbled headlong into green cotton wool. I won’t make the case here, but it could easily be done, that the Irish republicanism of a long line since Pearse actually offers a fascist intuition – my country/nation above all; the red wine of the battlefields; we’re not only different, we are special, indeed we are better. No hint of egalitarianism; no demand for justice, fairness and freedom for all; and no brotherhood with our unionist fellows who have been just as badly dealt with by the political system as any so-called republican has. Come on – tell us what underlying analysis or world view will really drive what you’re going to addrss us about!

  • Brankin

Yet another militant Republican blogger, just what Slugger needs. Has the site finally located to Connolly House?

Good luck with the unionist outreach. I for one will leave you to it.
