Magners League Third Weekend

Scarlets 20 – 22 Munster
Connacht 18 – 16 Cardiff Blues
Newport-Gwent D’gons 30 – 19 Glasgow
Ospreys 11 – 18 Leinster
Ulster 13 – 16 Edinburgh

Watched Ospreys Leinster and Scarlets Munster myself. Both truly magnificent examples of the generous philanthropy of the Welsh. Ospreys pathetic (and in real crisis) and Scarlets just like decided to let Munster win – very strange game.

Here’s the table – Scotland doing well.

1 Edinburgh 3 @ 13
2 Newport-Gwent D’gons 3 @ 9
3 Leinster 3 @ 9
4 Glasgow 3 @ 8
5 Munster 3 @ 8
6 Ospreys 3 @ 6
7 Scarlets 3 @ 5
8 Ulster 3 @ 5
9 Connacht 3 @ 5
10 Cardiff Blues 3 @ 2

Rugby: gayer than a pink manbag. Watched by solicitors, played by aspiring solictors, latent homosexuals and sexist pricks.

Head stuck in some other guy’s crotch, a bit of simpering towel-flicking in the showers afterwards and the downing of 14 pints, whereupon childish rugby songs about virgins (none of whom are likely to be endangered by rugby playing wusses) are sung with gusto, and trousers are dropped to impress their fellow man.

The game is brawn over brains, and lacks any of the skill and artistry involved in either association or gaelic football.

I trust that we hear no more about this nauseating spectacle of thuggery in “week 4”, or that real men’s sport -football- is afforded parity of esteem.

If Ulster were playing at the bottom of my garden, I’d draw the curtains (with apologies to Bill Shankly).

    Elanor Bull,

quite a collection of cliches there – but as with all good cliches an element of truth (at least historically) particulalry outside of Wales – where most legal disutes are settled by feuding and there is little requirement for solicitors but also because their best sportsmen choose rugby over ladyball.

Sometimes it is a good idea to actually look at what is going on around you before actually offering an opinion.

Tough times for your boyz, with Ospreys looking (as noted elsewhere ) less than the sum of their parts and it is quite possible that none of the Welsh teams will get out of their HC groups unless there is a very big improvement.

Scott Johnson cut an embarssaed figure having being credited with much of the success of Wales and Ospreys now looking very, very ordinary.

“Sometimes it is a good idea to actually look at what is going on around you before actually offering an opinion.”

I have been in the bar at Malone RFC. A nauseating spectacle of male bonding, dubious networking and little boys who never grew up.

Malone eh….Beat Queens the other day…. It is different here Ms Bull…a bit less….well…posh.

RE. “towel-flicking in the showers afterwards ”

Shameful. But I guess you must have been a welcome visitor in the Club.

Have a look at this website below which reflects, the pride, outstanding achievement and sporting supporter behaviour of the twice European champions that the dreadful Ladyball teams North and South and their supporters couldnt even dream of.

The obvious repsect that exists between the GAA and Rugby even in those GAA heartlands where there is a serious threat of recruitment belies your earlier sterotypical jibber-jabber.

Where’s the thread on the All-Ireland final lads – yiz are very quiet up there. How about a bit of respect for the team of the decade!

Tyrone were not involved in this year’s All-Ireland you waste of Televison TaxTwit!
