Twittering West Belfast Talks Back….

The big political debate of the year takes place at St Louisa’s on the Falls tonight… Feile an Phobal‘s West Belfast Talks Back… For those of us who cannot make it I know at least one Twitterer who’ll be there using the hastag #wbtb… If you’re going let us have you tweets?

One of the truly bi-lingual events at the Feile, hear they have a sign language interpreter – don’t know if they are covering both ISL/BSL. Other events despite interest being expressed aren’t being interpreted – pity a festival that gives so many nods of the head to language is pretty flimsy in providing support to indigenous languages of necessity.

  • Jackie Mc Donald, a leading member of the UDA’s inner council?….congratulations Feile an Phobail you certainly rubbed the noses of catholic West Belfast in it this time!

  • A big political debate missing half the political community in NI (SDLP and UUP)! Seems to me it has been designed to be more of a confrontation then a debate.

JKC i suppose you think an interesting discussion might be where a bunch of people in absolute agreement about their politics get on a stage and say i agree the whole night.

For some of us however, hearing a different opinion is occasionally needed.

    RS,

Feile’s major farce this year was when they pretty much ignored the 3 year long and successful again ‘Anti-Racism World Cup’ event and gave, along with others star billing to the poorly supported SF lead (splitter) ‘Love Football – Hate Racism’ event they even held over the same weekend as the usual competition.

The fact SF didn’t control the Anti-Racism World Cup and éirígí members were and had been involved in running this competition for years of course meant that SF ran a mean spirited, failed spoiler competition but thankfully didn’t end up damaging a competition with pedigree.

Shame on that lot of them. Can’t control? Try to feck it up?

Conall – in the entire history of Feile they have never had an SDLP speaker at the Talks Back event. Not even when that party held the parliamentary seat.

Feile has matured in a number of ways recently but this blatant political bias remains a blot on their track record.

  • Your’re amazing REPUBLICAN stones, you read my mind. Please tell me, ‘will we have Irish unity by 2016 as well?’
