A provisional line up of our top Irish blogs…

When we move to the new site, all manner of things will change, not least our capacity to change update and red out old or broken links in the blogroll… I’ve taken up some of the suggestions for the best Irish blogs from yesterday and put them onto a dynamic Netvibes page which we should be able to import into the new wordpress site… You’ll not be able to see this for a while, since the offline development will take quite a while… In the meantime, please let us know of any local blogs you think we’re missing… Only the political representatives section has yet been put in any order of merit, with Gerry Adams a clear all island winner at the top… For the crack we may run a poll for the top ten in each section… Other pages on Scotland, Westminster, Wales and Europe to follow later…

I think the Pensive Quill has to be in there somewhere

Yes, absolutely… as does Belfast and Beyond… It will get updated but I’ll batch change it on Monday…

Lot’s of northern blogs, and southern wonks… any more poli southern ones and nordie wonks?

Mick, may I be so bold to suggest that this is widened out a bit into the culture part? Selfishly, I’d like to see a bit more of the “culture” aspect of the site expanded, specifically, music. I’m not suggesting this site becomes Smash Hits, and I am not au fait with too many non-political blogs, but it’s just a thought. Sorry for being a bit o/t.

Very humble suggestion: You could change it to
n(orth of) i(reland) life, politics and culture. Then those of us who also like the other stuff wouldn’t get annoyed when pierre le boulangere gets berated for star gazer threads:) and people wouldn’t be telling you what you should have on your own blog

  • Mick Fealty

But that would just start another argument of the same character though Latch…

  • Any chance of including this one

Mick, if O’Connal Street is a Nordie Blog (Mexican moved north) then by the same rationale, Turbelence Ahead (Nordie moved south) is a Mexican blog.

Stumbled across this one – Last Word / Matt Cooper blog at Today FM..

Looks a little sterile at the minute, but if it does become a forum for debate, could be very interesting..
