Kinahan to succeed Burnside in South Antrim…

I would once have thought South Antrim one of the UCU’s best chances of grabbing back a Westminster seat. Burnside’s not long gone and Willie McCrea’s not been popular with all of the base after dispatching a popular internal rival. Danny Kinahan’s not exactly a game changing candidate, but he sits on the ‘Alliance side’ of the party. Good for transfers from Alliance and soft nationalists you’d think. But it’s unclear to me how well he will appeal to that tranche of anti Agreement UUs that once voted for Burnside. The party has of course an opportunity to make more of the arrangement (shall we say) with the Tories before Cameron’s procession into power. But will they avail of it? And can Kinahan bring home the bacon to what is a very complex constitutency.

all this time the UUP have been attacking the UUP while jim allister takes disaffected UUP votes.

For the first time the nationalist vote may well be greater than the Unionist one which means the DUP will be elected while the UUP scrambles with the TUV , but the SDLP will grab the 3rd seat.

Bye Bye Jim, Jim, Reg and PBDC.

from your posts it would appear that the hysteria affecting Diane on the politics show taping is catching.

Suggest you go and lie down in a dark room for a while

any idea whose transfers Diane is going to need to get elected, might be time for Peter to ask Marty for a favour (just to keep the project going you understand)

any truth in the rumour the DUP have asked for the politics show to be pulled from the schedule

Why not just go the whole hog an call her a hysterical female!

After all that’s what you mean really isn’t it? There is a disgraceful undertone of sexism in the TUV.

Jim Allister rants and raves at people and demonstrates his fundamental lack of manners and its “strident performance bla, bla, bla bla”, but when a WOMAN stands up for herself against a snotty little bully she’s “hysterical”.

Jim Allister obviously has no problem with women in politics – the Parliament pays tax-payers money his wife and daughter – he just won’t have them on the ballot paper.

“any idea whose transfers Diane is going to need to get elected”

Nice admission from TUV cheerleader that Diane Dodds will get elected. Freudian slip.

LOl, it sounds like the boys at Glengall street, i mean Cunningham house, i mean Regs front room, are the hysterical ones.

DUP , SF , SDLP – that`ll be the result monday week.

  • politico

Actually as an Ulster Unionist I think Mr Allister at times can be hysterical himself when he is trying to make a point so it is not a comment on her gender more a comment on her political immaturity. The DUP has a number of quite competant female politicians any of whom would have made a better candidate than Diane. But then their name wasn’t Dodds or Robinson or McCrea.

and actually since I don’t see where Diane’s transfers are coming from I think she may be in difficulty though I dont rule out the possibility she may get elected without reaching quota

  • ABC

Political immaturity? How condascending can you get? Like Jim Allister your sneering attitude towards Diane Dodds says more baout you than it does about her.

Then again as a supporter of a party that doesn’t have a single female MLA or a single female councillor below the age of 40, I’m not surprised by your revolting attitude.

and actually since I don’t see where Diane’s transfers are coming from ………….

LOL the DUP will be the largest unionist party BY FAR and will easily be elected, unfortunately the 2 jims will fall behind Alban

When a candidate cannot answer a question such as what is their personal view of the causes of climate change, when the environment is one of the key European issues then I have to say that candidate is politically immature.

If you have another term for her lack of ability and poor media performances please enlighten us all.

only the largest unionist party !!! what happened to topping the poll

  • ??

roll on monday week we can say goodbye to jim and jim, and also reg.

Wonder which UCUNF will be the first to say they were opposed to the tory project? My moneys on Beggs Jr.

    Politico

She answered the question concerning climate change perfectly well. If she had said: I don’t believe in man-made climate change, the environmentalists would have been all over her like shingles, if she had said, “Sammy was wrong”, she would have been getting damned for repudiating a party colleague.

What she said was: “people are entitled to a personal view, but the party has a policy. As a representative of the party, I agree with that policy”. What’s the problem?

You see fault because you want to. Your criticism is neither legitimate nor fair.

    “topping the poll”

Good to see you recognise only the DUP can do so.

  • politico

nope don’t think so just wondering why you have stopped claiming the DUP will

  • ABC

I have never claimed they WILL. I have said the only people who CAN do so are the DUP. In every election since he first ran in 1989, Jim Nicholson has needed DUP transfers to get elected. That is a fact. I fail to see anything that will alter that.

I fail to see anything that will alter that.

except even with DUP transfers nicholson wont get elected, the UUP are heading for 10% poll
