Cameron Direct this afternoon in Ballymena…

I mentioned this in the last blog, and I think it is worth pointing out since it is David Cameron’s first, and likely only intervention in this side of the water in this campaign. If you want to go along this afternoon, info@voteforchangeni.com or call 02890 333381. You can catch the webcast here. Twitter hashtag is still #CamDir (I think)… Go and enjoy listening to a politician who knows how to interact… Or, if you can’t bear it, come to PiCamp and maybe work out how to help your party talk to the rest of us online…

  • Would love someone to bring along some rubber ducks and set them in the “moat” around the bottom of the Cameron Direct stage … such a mischievous photo opportunity.

Given that DC has forced Sir Peter Viggers and Douglas Hogg to stand down at the next election…in marked contrast to Brown with Blears etc, I’m sure the guy could deal with it.

Some one needs to compose a few lyrics along the lines of the Twelve Days of Christmas on this issue.

The 14th day of Daily Telegraph revelations have also prompted Tory whip Bill Wiggin to say he made a mistake in claiming for a mortgage that did not exist on his second home.

Mr Cameron told GMTV that Mr Wiggin’s claim for a non-existent mortgage was “a bad mistake but it looks like it’s an honest mistake and he was not claiming money that he wasn’t entitled to”.

It appears that Mr Wiggins filled in the form incorrectly . Now why do I find that ‘disquieting ‘ ? These are presumably to be the next party of government in the UK and they can’t even fill in a form correctly ? Not good at all at all 🙁

I The 14th day of Daily Telegraph revelations have also prompted Tory whip Bill Wiggin to say he made a mistake in claiming for a mortgage that did not exist on his second home.

Mr Cameron told GMTV that Mr Wiggin’s claim for a non-existent mortgage was “a bad mistake but it looks like it’s an honest mistake and he was not claiming money that he wasn’t entitled to”.

You would think in a functioning democracy that it would be up to the courts to decide whether Mr Wiggin’s mistake was ‘honest’ or otherwise.

  • Doesn’t look like they’re webcasting it live … maybe the lack of wifi also meant a lack of broadband that they could get permission to use! If it’s anything like the Belfast event, it’ll probably appear online after a couple of days.

Portadown then Ballymena? What a joke!! Its the same when the British Queen comes i.e. the Waterside then Banbridge. Why don’t they take him to the Bogside, to the Falls Road, to South Armagh, to Strabane etc, so he can see how dis-united his stupid little Kingdom is. Let him make his blue blooded Tory remarks in places like this and let us sit back and watch the people’s reactions.

No alan. The only evidence on line that the event took place at all was Stratagem’s Twitter feed: http://twitter.com/stratagemni

More Tweets next time lads… It could turn out to be an exclusive like this one…

I’m sure Chekov will put it right soon enough…

Quag: I hear what you’re saying, and a fair challenge to Mr Cameron… But for balance, let’s also see Gerry knock a few doors in Kilcooley… What would be your guess: fission or fusion?

Quagmire, Cameron is interested in one thing only – becoming PM. He will gobble up the unionist goodwill and then be on his way again.

But his election would splinter the UK further, mark it.

Old Reg got sucked in of course, somehow believing an alliance with an English party was the way to go for an ulster party on the decline. A final, desperate grab for power.

Reg and Mr. Allister are merely the political expression of the death throes of “Simply British” NI – a NI that never worked and cannot work.

They don’t represent “Northern Ireland”, they represent “Protestant Ireland”. Sectarian to the core.

Never thought I’d say it but.. go DUP!
