Nearly 1000 jobs to go at Bombardier…

I’d take that promise that Northern Ireland’s public sector blanket will keep it warmer than anywhere else on these islands, is probably still good for return (although we await to hear from OFMDFM what it plans to do about that £1billion gap between its budgetary plans and l’actualité). Although the loss of 1000 jobs at Bombardier is sickening news for those employed there, the remaining workforce at Bombardier across Northern Ireland will remain at about 5,000. Most of the cuts this week relate to global conditions. How well Northern Ireland comes out of it relies more on the corporate response of the Stormont Administration than the direct intervention of its local representatives after the fact.

Mike, if your word ‘l’actualité‘ is supposed to be French, I don’t think it means what you think it means.

    Sorry, Mick!

Pot Pourri! (as Mickboy might say)

  • @6countyprod – I think there may have been an Alan Clark reference there. (As in “economical with…”)

    Thanks Mark (D)!

Oh, I get it, kind of like perpetuating a Bushism.
