Gardai arrest three in Dublin raid

Not much detail on this yet but two men and a woman, all described as being in their 30s, have been arrested in Dublin by police investigating republican paramilitary activity and are being held under Section 30 of the Republic of Ireland’s Offences Against the State Act. The BBC report notes that, “Police said that suspect devices have been found and have asked for support from an Irish army bomb disposal team. Gardai raided a flat in Ulster Street in Phibsboro this afternoon and found a number of suspect devices. The street was closed off while members of the Army bomb squad dealt with the devices. A spokesperson later said the devices examined at the scene were five pieces of pipe, but no explosive material or other bomb-making components were found. However, it is understood the pipe was cut to be used as bombs.
