The full story came late

Some odd reporting from last week. Early stories on a pipe bomb being found in Lenadoon indicated that the device was found outside a house, reports that may have been based on comments by SF Cllr Gerard O’Neill to the press and on his party website.

The people behind a pipe bomb made safe outside a house in west Belfast early today have been condemned by a local Sinn Féin representative.

However, as the Irish News later reported, something that Mr O’Neill either didn’t know or didn’t reveal, the pipe bomb was actually discovered in IRSP spokersperson Gerard Foster’s home after being hurled through the window.
