“but there are people who want to think things through for themselves..”

Via Newshound. Here’s an optimistic quote from Rev Earl Storey in the Londonderry Sentinel

“I think people on all sides have been fed slogans and myths and people have begun to question whether reality matches what they have been told. In that sense I think people are much more ready to question their political leadership.” He continued: “I think there is a political maturity happening with people. I think people have woken up to the fact they have been sold some myths and lies by political leadership, but there are people who want to think things through for themselves.”

    Rev Earl Story,

‘I think people on all sides have been fed slogans and myths and people have begun to question whether reality matches what they have been told.’

Just as well the Rev is talking about politics and not religion ?

“I think there is a political maturity happening with people. I think people have woken up to the fact they have been sold some myths and lies by political leadership, but there are people who want to think things through for themselves.”

So the ‘religious ‘leadership have not been ‘selling’ myths and lies ?

Not that they would ever admit it of course . Why would Rev Story expect NI politicians on all sides to be any different ?

“people are much more ready to question their political leadership”.

There speaks the Rev Earl Storey and former Ulster Unionist election candidate. Perhaps his views on political leadership might be a little different had the electorate not rejected him.

  • “I think people have woken up to the fact they have been sold some myths and lies by political leadership”

“No guns, no government” and “Over our dead bodies” spring to mind.
