I’m off this morning for the couple of small breaks that constitute our summer holidays this year… I hope to be back (briefly) on Wednesday to introduce a couple of new bloggers to the team… In the meantime, whether you have enjoyed Slugger for a long time, or are a recent ‘convert’, consider putting something in the tip jar to help us meet the not inconsiderable costs of “keeping her lit”! You can donate by Paypal, or by card of your choice. Cheques also gratefully received!! 😉 In the meantime, I’m off to take a rest from politics and media watching before what’ shaping up to be a very busy Autumn, with a three year programme for goverment and some interesting horse trading over ministerial budgets likely to test the integrity of our ‘grand coalition’. We look forward to following the
row debate over the Irish Language Act, and we should also find out just how many ‘supercouncils’ there is likely to be [any connection there? – ed]. And, as Gonzo flags up, will there be a ‘loyal opposition’ (listen out for noises off stage right: “Don’t do it Reg!”).
Whatever you are doing this summer, long break, short break or working through so : 1, you can keep paying the bills; or 2, because you got your holiday dates in too late; or three, you’re doing the winter cruise this year, have a good one!
