Camp-Hain-er quits again…

GUIDO reports that Peter Hain’s former special adviser – who went on to work furiously on the SoS’s campaign to be deputy PM – has recently parted ways with the permatanned god. Guido claimed Phil Taylor and Hain “parted company last week due ‘irreconcilable differences’. Hain didn’t agree with Taylor’s advice which contradicted the advice of the individual actually employed to run the campaign, Steve Morgan.” Why do the words “rat”, “sinking” and “ship” keep popping into my head?

Why do the words “who” “gives” and “feck” pop into mine?

  • Pete Baker

If you’re not interested, SS.. just don’t comment.

As for Guido’s account.. if accurate, then it may be a case of an embarrassing departure for Phil Taylor after stating he was taking unpaid leave to work on the deputy-leadership campaign.

Although I have my doubts that such a long-standing working relationship would end so suddenly.

If my comments are going to have elements added it is surely fair that the, possibly drunk, Slugger moderator adding them makes clear he is adding the additional sentence I did not contribute?

  • Pete Baker

    SS

I’m not impressed by the edit you spotted and Mick may be able to ascertain who was responsible.

If he can they’ll be red-carded.

  • SuperSoupy

    Pete,

Admittedly it wasn’t a very insightful comment.

..but it create an interesting by-product:

One of your moderators just added a full sentence I didn’t contribute to my post and tried to make it look like it came from me.

    Discuss…

    Pete,

    Cross posting there.

It has been rectified. No harm done. Certainly no need for a follow-up. Everyone has the occassional moment.

  • Pete Baker

    Already there, SS.

  • Pete Baker

“Certainly no need for a follow-up.”

    I disagree.

  • SuperSoupy

I’d be happy to see comments from three on deleted. It was a small, silly but immediately rectified mistake.

    I’m happy. What’s the problem?

  • Pete Baker

    Integrity.

  • SuperSoupy

It was a stupid mistake, people make them – but fixed. I’ve emailed Mick my lack of concern and as far as I’m concerned it is a non-issue, end of.

  • Pete Baker

Well, SS, it ventures into territory that you have no jurisdiction over.

The integrity of what people type, before any moderation is applied, must be secured.

So, your ‘lack of concern’ is noted. Thanks.

  • I Wonder

Phil Taylor used to have to be copied into every sensitive ministerial submission here. It was said that he was the de facto SoS.

Now what for him? Standing at traffic lights with the Tele? 😉
