March was a bad month for…

…WOULD-be republican bomber Paul Donnelly. The day after the Police Ombudsman cleared the police of shooting him in his mum’s car as he tried to bomb the old car tax office in Belfast, he was arrested in another car after police popped out of the back of a cash transit van during an armed robbery. Ironically, if he’d served his original sentence in full, he wouldn’t have been charged with last month’s robbery.Hat-tip to Pete for sparking such thoughts here.

Sorry but am I missing something here? Did this guy only serve 2 years after being found guilty of an attempted bombing and membership of the CIRA?

    If so that is sick.

The one bright spot is that it does seem that the peelers have good intelligence on the CIRA.

lol nice smear job trying to make it sound like its the mainstream republicans when its the dissidents.

but thats a classic trick isn’t it make everything sound like its the PIRA or Sinn Fein and hope people will listen to the clap trap

    Career change required.

I would reckon his next time in the clink should be long enough for a degree or something.

Sean: make everything sound like its the PIRA or Sinn Fein and hope people will listen to the clap trap
I didn’t see that in Gonzo’s original. When you see the word ‘republican’ do you always translate it into ‘Provo’? Then it’s your problem…
