Time to decommission distructive mindsets

I doubt the much feted meeting next week between Ian Paisley and Sean Brady is a sign that the former is about to declare himself an apostate after all these years of fighting ‘the tyranny of the church of Rome’. But given both have some shared social concerns, it is an interesting leadership move from Paisley that might be more useful in terms of what it signals – an intent to ‘decommission’ residual, largely self destructive anti-Catholic sentiment amongst the harder end of his constituency – than for any practical outcomes it may herald. Nice background piece from John Manley in the Irish News.

    distructive=destructive

    Mick, not sure what you mean by “residual, largely self destructive anti-Catholic sentiment amongst the harder end of his constituency.”

    Surely that sentiment led to an awful lot of destruction in Catholic quarters throughout the entire province, and generated more than 30 years of appalling shite.

    Mick.

    Are you deliberately making small spelling mistakes?
    There seems to have been a rash of them in the last few days. I think you’re playing games with us.

  • If only I were that clever. Chasing the Tories in Bournmouth this week…

    You will never never, never, never decommission the distructive mindsets of Loyalist and Republican BIGOTS

    Never say “never never, never, never.”

    Paisley should hurry up and die. He has morte blood on his hands than anyone else in Ireland or Britain.

    To William Joyce

    As you state in your post above Paisley “has more blood on his hands than anyone else in Ireland or Britain”.

    Mr Joyce he is not the only one in NI and Britain who has a lot of blood on his hands.

    How much blood do republicans have on their hands, considering they are responsible for 75% of all murders. Check your facts first.

  • When I read about Paisley, I can only laugh. I should cry, I know. He’s funny.

    You could never take a man like this seriously. Why on earth people vote for him is beyond my comprehension.
