The Slugger League: An Update

After 5 weeks, the inaugural Fantasy Football Slugger League has got off to a pacy start, with no fewer than 70 teams entering our League to compete for the title of Champions of the Slugger world. At this stage, the early leader is Tony Morgan’s ‘High As A Kuyt,’ with 267 points- making him 17,765th out of more than 932,000 global teams in the overall FA Premier League competition, which puts him in the top 2% percent of competitors worldwide (well done Tony!)

Greg C’s ‘Gutter Stars’ are a close second (263 pts) while The Clady Cowboy, with his ‘Gael Force Wins,’ is currently in 3rd place (260 pts.)

The league remains open to anyone still wishing to enter: simply enter a team on the FA Fantasy Premier League website and the League code is 275765-48351. Obviously you’ll be at a bit of a disadvantage (in that your chances of catching up on Tony’s 267 point lead are less than zilch) but you can set yourself the less ambitious target of at least catching up with the chasing pack.

The current ranking is listed first, followed by team name and manager, then most recent week’s score, and finally overall points to date.

Entrant number 70 is a certain Mr. Fealty, who would’ve received lines if he’d been in my class for his tardiness….BUT better late than never!

Good luck to all!

  • Mick Fealty

Ach, you’re a hard man Mr Donnelly!

  • darth rumsfeld

at least you didn’t submit the team Stuart Pearse has put out in recent weeks, eh mick ? :0)

  • Mick Fealty

Yes: tried to get Barton in, but went for a cheap option in midfield on the hope that O’Neill will bring a long term renaissance at Villa.

  • I’ve had a terrible last few weeks, but all is about to change. The wild card has been used and those players – like Zamora and Doyle – who are shocking everyone a little have been purchased. I have absolutely no doubt that those players, amongst the others I bought, will now fall from their purple patch to turn barren. Leaving me upset, upset and in the bottom half.

  • moochin photoman

Mid table medocraty for me at the mo…..mon Five Furra Poun ffs (managers rant over)

  • Chris Donnelly

    Mick
I’m pinning my hopes on O’Neill working his magic at Villa as well- and it’s certainly a worthwhile risk, given his record of bringing the best out of players.

  • The Devil

It should be noted that I selected my team from known patrons of the Kremlin Nightclub, bunch of fags….

  • Mustapha Mond

LOL @ devil. send them to the Kakpipe Cosmonauts F.C. reserves. van der saar was out with ghandis revenge… big jessie.

welcome mick and george. I started late as well, in week 2.
