Typo that raised a smile

Parading has reached its ultimate zenith. The song line about every day being the Twelfth of July has come true and where else but in Ballymena. Sinn Fein MLA Philip McGuigan is to meet with the Parades Commission to raise concerns about a “continuous” Loyalist parade.

maybe he dreams about a continuous parade!

Parading has reached its ultimate zenith.

Conversely, your threads appear to have reached their ultimate nadir.

You see, I didn’t think anything of the phrase “continuous” parade. As it is, they go from March to September, so I thought it’d be entirely plausible for them to extend that for a few more months. There’s no end to the amount of Black Preceptoring that needs to be done, you know — if they don’t cavort *just* so down the “queen’s” high-way for four months of the year with our collarettes arranged *just* like this, then we’re going to hell with all those dreadful Catholics.

And there’s certainly a “continuous” supply of participants! They do it every day for months — the bloodless ferret-faced creationists prancing ahead in formation with their umbrellas and hymns and FAAAABUlous embroidered banners at the front, the little Hitler Jugend with their feathers (of course!) and drums in the middle, and the fat skinhead thugs in Rangers jerseys swilling lager at the back. Songs and chants about burning and torturing and being up to their necks in Fenian blood for Ulster all throughout, of course. The ceremonial lighting of the votive Benson & Hedges in front of the mural that says “UVF TAYG FREE ZONE NO SORENDUR SIMPLY THA BEST” in the soothing tones of, uhhm, what did we call that again, that fake language we slapped together in 1998 by taking Scots and changing the spelling?

It’s all a delightfully symbolic part of that rich Carson/Paisley/Lenny Murphy heritage that exemplifies the old traditions of the Orange Order and its gallant allies in Pretoria.

Nevin – could you maybe explain the point of your links?
Oh I get it – the YouTube thing was humour. Maybe I’m just a killjoy, but I didn’t even find benny hill funny back in the day.
Pity cos I could do with a laugh today.

Probably not, more likely he cant get out of the area due to numptie loyalists continuously marching where they are not wanted.

“… numptie loyalists continuously marching where they are not wanted.”

Careful, POL, Fair Deal will point out that it ought to read “numptie loyalists continually marching where they are not wanted.”

    Don’t do it again.

You must have been wetting yourself at the sight of that mistake. Time to get back to doing what you do best, trawling the net for anything you can throw at the gaa.

Whatabout all those people previously in stitches over someone mixing up ‘condoning’ and ‘condemning’?

  • Fanny

“Whatabout all those people previously in stitches over someone mixing up ‘condoning’ and ‘condemning’?”

You mean the Catholic Church not condoning condomming and so condemning thousands to die of AIDS?

Circles, just illustrating some of McGuigan’s other activities in and around North Antrim. He now finally seems to be on message re.parades after last years sixes and sevens performance.
