Politics Show newsletter…

One useful thing the Politics Show has initiated is Jim Fitzpatrick’s newsletter, which gives you a heads up on what’s happening on Sunday. Reg Empey is his guest this week: “It’s a year since Sir Reg took over from David, now Lord, Trimble. So, how has he fared? Well, Gareth Gordon has been out speaking to the grassroots and the verdict is mixed”. Other Beeb output has Hain putting some pressure on the DUP over the November deadline, and Sinn Fein over policing on Let’s Talk. He’s on Inside Politics between 1pm and 2pm tomorrow too.

Nobody seemed to pick up on the blunderous predictions in the last assembley elections the grey suited GG made. He’s a little like Mark Davenport in that respect, he’s also someone who reports just the populist view and not necessarily the grassroots view.

GG & MD only hear the man who shouts the loudest and forget that others go to the ballot box too. I find their reporting tiresome, predicatable and seldom insightful. The BBC clearly needs new staff in the NIO.
