Two scoops for the price of one…

It looks like we had two scoops last night. The IMC report, which is still being talked about speculatively on RTE and BBC radio. The Belfast Telegraph, however, carries our scoop on the front page of its early print versions. RTE also carries the story we broke late last night, ie that Colm O’Gorman is to run in Wexford for the PDs – press conference later today.

It looks like full steam ahead for the Agreement the institutions and the process. That is good news for everybody.

Will Paisley take a stint as First Minister before retiring or will it be straight to Peter Robinson?

This reminds me of something that happened at Eurovision in Kyiv last year. The result of the qualifier was supposedly kept quiet until after the final in order not to give advantage to anyone. However a simple digit change on the EBU’s website and hey presto, the results were there. Then off to the bookmakers site and place a tidy sum on the winner of the qualifier, and suddendly your trip is paid for.

Do you not find the BT story just a little bit incestuous? Especially the part plugging Slugger!

  • Mick Fealty

    Was it wrong Stephen?

  • Stephen Copeland

    Mick,

Of course it wasn’t wrong. I don’t want to be too specific, but you know well the linkages I’m referring to.

    congrats on the scoops!

Slugger and the Tele sourced the story independently, though it might not look that way!

I heard on RTE radio today the group editor of a Wexford paper saying that it was they who broke the O’Gorman story….maybe someone should set the record straight

  • Mick Fealty

I didn’t hear that… I imagine it was a close run thing… or maybe not… did they give details on when it ran?
