The Twickenham Showdown

The big day has arrived. Can Ireland clinch the Triple Crown and possibly even sneak their first ever Six Nations Championship, or will the English bounce back from their French humiliation?

For those that are prepared to trade during the game, Ireland at 2/1 on Betfair represents one of the best bets of the season. The 1.59 Ireland + 13.5 points was also cracking value, but alas has dried up – I only managed to get a monkey on!

ah lets not get ahead of oursleves. For anyone who has actually watched Ireland’s games, they have been abismal!! We have arguably one of the most exciting backlines in the competition but we continue to play our drab old hoof the ball to their 22, lose the lineout and march back to our half. Good sides thrive on this style of play. The best thing to happen today is to get beaten by England, sack O’Sullivan and bring in a new coach. Rugby has changed, we’re playing in the 1990’s, take at Wales last year – that’s what we should be aiming for. That said, we could well beat England – they are equally as bad, although their lineout is half decent so our hoof it up the line tactics are unlikely to work. There is no plan B. That said, our backline can thrive on Englands mistakes so a snatch and grab victory is possible. I predict 18-15 England.

France, well it depends what side turns up. They could win by 30 or lose by 10. Bythe time they kic of they will know precisely what is required. They will win, but just.

    Sack O’Sullivan!!

Wales are five points ahead, so there’s hope for the Irish triple crown at 5.30pm!!!

The Curse of Gonzo strikes again! ;p

  • Belfast Gonzo

Was it not the Curse of Lono that gonzo journos had to watch out for!

Anyway, the Ireland game’s just about to start…

  • Mick Fealty

Ireland have gone back to that, “we’ll turn up at half time” gambit. Appalling opening defence…

  • sohnlein

Well that 2/1 on Betfair is now 1.90 at half time; leaving us traders the chance to lay off at a considerable profit regardless of the final outcome!!

  • Mick Fealty

Can we swap O’Gara for Goode?

  • Pete Baker

    Great try!

  • Pete Baker

And I think we’ll keep O’Gara.. if that’s alright with you Mick ;p

I hope some were on …

Indeed. I had to resurrect my Betfair account from the last Westminster election. But thanks for the heads up!
