Adams still on US “terror watch list”?

It appears that the Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams [or his travelling companion Richard McAuley – Ed] remains on The List as far as US Homeland Security are concerned. As RTÉ reports, “Gerry Adams, missed a function in Buffalo, NY, last night after he was stopped for additional security checks by officials at a Washington aiport.” The BBC report has a little more detail – the reference to the terror watch list comes from US Congressman Brian Higgins, officially there’s no comment on who is or isn’t on that list – and Reuters has a candidate for quote of the day – The Homeland Security official told Reuters that as Adams “was traveling to Buffalo, he was routinely going through (standard security screening) and he had a very thorough secondary screening.”
