Hi all and Happy St. Patrick’s day!
I think turning the river green for a day is great! I lived in Chicago for 10 years and the Irish are very proud and happy to show the green. Although many of you in Ireland may not think it or realize it…the Irish dispora the world over like to show off their heritage and be green for the day….
In Ireland you sing, “The rising of the Moon” in the states we sing, “Wearing of the Green”.
“Oh Paddy, dear, and did you hear the news that’s goin’ round? The Shamrock is forbid by law to grow on Irish Ground. Saint Patrick’s day no more to keep his color can’t be seen. for there’s a bloody law agin the WEARIN’ OF THE GREEN>>>>>” It is the song of the day!!!!
So we wear green…and dye our rivers green and I’m proud of it.
