Ward requested move to Republican wing…

Interesting little detail that escaped our notice last Sunday. Chris Ward, the bank official arrested charged with complicity in the robbery of the Northern Bank has requested that he be moved to the Republican wing of Magherberry Jail. Alan Murray, “Ward (24), requested “separated” status at the top-security prison on Friday so he can be housed with IRA, Real IRA and Continuity IRA inmates while on remand. The Prison Service refused to comment last night on bank employee Ward’s request for “separated” status”.

I saw this story at the time it was first published and have my doubts so I kept quite about it, is there any other sources to confirm it. As it seems strange we have had no followups. Someone else asked for a transfer about the same time, I wondered if the two men had been mixed up.

    Best regards

Sure if it helps to link Republicans to the robbery, never worry whether its true or not !!

  • He’s a republican and he’s in prison, and he probably believes he’s in prison BECAUSE he’s a republican, so why wouldn’t he ask to be placed on the republican wing. It doesn’t necessarily mean either that he or republicans were involved in the raid. I’d probably do the same thing in his position.

Just how many turkeys are the shinners going to supply us with this christmas.

It was funny to see Adams looking like a right pudding himself yesterday, I just wonder when the powers that be are going to pull his cracker and the tinseltown of Connelly house comes crashing down and more than a few ball roll on the floor.

Lets hear it for the Turkeys that voted for christmas

The Devil, whats the connection between Ward and SF?

This story is inaccurate in one detail at least.
You don’t ‘request’ to go on a separated wing.
    You have to be invited.

This is not the case any more. It was the case on the old wings, before the mass release, but in today’s prisons there is an arrangement whereby a new prisoner is offered the opportunity to apply for Separated Status.

If the prison authorities grant the status then the prisoner will be housed on a wing set aside for people of a certain political persuation, ie, Republicans or Loyalists.

The prisoners on the wings have no control over who is, or is not, housed on their wing.

He’s a republican, is he? How do you know? In the interview he gave earlier this year he said he had no involvement and no interest in politics. Are you calling him a liar?
