What would you be buried with?

It appears more and more Irish people are being buried with their mobile phones. The BBC reports one undertaker as saying it’s out of fear of being buried alive. “Some people are superstitious and insist the phone is turned off so that if they do wake up they will have battery power when the phone is turned on again,” Dublin undertaker Keith Massey said.

As I understand it, mobile phone rates in Ireland are outrageous … I can’t help but wonder who will keep paying the monthly/per diem charges for their deceased loved ones.

I for one would wait and see if i was in the will before i agreed to keep up the payments. 🙂

The future is bright, the future is orange?

  • That seems quite a good idea to me. I plan on being frozen cryogenically, but perhaps someone will mind my phone.

  • I’ve read about this elsewhere. There’s been cases of loved ones of the deceased suddenly getting text messages from deceased ones like “I love you” and has freaked them out.

What has happened is that texts are sent to the deceased’s phone that has been buried with them. After several months because of no use, the number is disconnected and is reassigned. The person with the reassigned number then gets these messages and may reply back, unknowingly causing distresses.

The tip is that if you bury a loved one with thier mobile phone, tell the mobile operator and they will usually retire the number and not reassign it.

Never mind what you would be buried with, what would you like to be buried in.

    Maybe one of these!

We already have a network that has such a service above ground. It’s called T-Mobile!

  • If they’re that afraid of being buried why not get cremated instead. Its a truly bizarre world that we live in…

PS Any ideas on how they’re gonna keep their mobies charged up…?
