Also among the lots in the auction is a first edition of C S Lewis – The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe

  • Mr. Bingley

Oh my god, I would kill for that Marvell collection for my wife.

  • Mr. Bingley

But 3000-4000 pounds is a tad over my budget.

    Hi Mr Bingley

    This collection?

How about “The Tragedy of Hamlet Prince of Denmark. Newly imprinted and inlarged, according to the true and perfect copy last Printed. by R. Young for John Smethwicke, 1637″?

  • peteb

    Heh.

The £30,000—50,000 is a tad over my budget too.

  • Mr. Bingley

Yeah, sigh. She would flip for it…Marvell is her favorite poet, and her dissertation was on Milton, Marvell, and Spenser…

  • peteb

Well there’s some Milton in there too..

  • peteb

    Only £1000-1500

    with Chaucer thrown in.

  • Mr. Bingley

    Yeah, I saw that too.

I was really hoping for a 1st edition Faerie Queene…which I wouldn’t be able to afford either. Heh.
