A short selection

A treat for fans of the short story format, and fans of Colm Tóibín in particular. The Guardian has added some new tales to its online collection of short stories.. including Famous Blue Raincoat by Colm Tóibín.

  1. Thanks so much for the heads up on that short story section, I never even knew it existed despite being a regular reader of the Guardian.
Pity I have about 10 million books by my bed before I can dip in. 🙂

That’s [only] one of the reasons why the short story format has a lot of fans. 🙂

  4. A bit of a parallel with the story of The Johnstons – two sister Irish folk group, contemperary songs (Cohen, Mitchell etc), even a grumpy Northerner (Paul Brady!) Also dodgy American interloper (McCloud),breakup of the group and one sister dead. Tobin is mining his musical memories!
