Two arrested in McCartney investigation

Further to Naoise’s early report of arrests in the McCartney case, there’s not much in the way of further detail. BBC Northern Ireland and Birmingham have published this report in the last hour. Tommie Gorman report on RTE this morning that this has the feel of something more substantial than the ten earlier arrests in this case, in which all were released after refusing to make statements. The dead man’s sisters remain determined that a proper investigation should centre on the actions of all the people involved in the fracas inside and outside of Mcgennis’s Bar.

Is there not supposed to be a trial, hear the evidence, let the jury make a decision based on the evidence.
Or do we forgo all those formalities, assume the PSNI have done some sterling detective work, lock up the alleged culprits and throw away the key.

There’s no justice like British justice.

To be fair to Ulsterman, that’s all that’s left of his post. The rest of it was removed for some nasty man playing.

I would just like to say i hope theright people have been caught, and if after given a fair trial are convicted it is a victory for all the people of IRELAND,no-one in the post G.F.A NORTH should suffer the fait of Robert ,in the past i may have posted things which seemed to belittle the sisters efforts for justice,I appologise for this, no excuse but AS a republican i just didnt like some people of opposite political views trying to tar the entire republican family in the same light as those sadistic cowardly scumbags who have so much in common with the late and unlamented HUGH LENNARD THOMPSON MURPHY.THE victory for the people of IRELAND WILL BE THIS, as a Republican since this has happened i have had inner doubts —if he was a republican supporter ,and they could do that and get away with it because they were friends with someone important or related to a respected republican– couldnt they do it to me , or a family member ,or JENNY THE SINN FEIN SUPPORTER, WHO turned down one of these criminal morons for a date. common im not the only one who had these thoughts

    Justice or vendetta ?

    headmelter: “Justice or Vendetta”

Well, since they want a ‘proper investigation’, it seems they are after justice. Don’t you want a ‘proper investigation’ too? If there is something wrong with wanting a ‘proper investigation’, please explain…
