The big news this morning is that the IRA have finally denied the Northern Bank raid. Martin McGuinness follows it up with something more forthright than anything we have heard from Sinn Fein since this crisis began:
“If the IRA had been involved…there would have been a defining moment in Sinn Fein’s leadership’s work with the IRA. It would have been totally and absolutely unacceptable to me.”
The question remains to be answered, if this was a straightforward matter, why did it take so long to issue the statement?
