Make that a Cabernet Sauvignon to go

On a more positive note (Mondays.. sheesh), RTE, UTV, the Irish Times and others all report that negotiations on the Bewley’s Oriental Café premises in Grafton Street are at an “advanced stage” with emerging lead contenders the partners in the Cafe Bar Deli restaurant chain, “which began with the redevelopment of the old Bewley’s on George’s Street” – it’s being reported that the plan is to redevelop the Oriental Café premises as a “wine bar café”, jointly operated with the Campbell Bewley Group.

Let’s just say I’m not as old [and you can add in any additional description here] as you are, Dav. 😉

I’d be much happier to see CafeBarDeli take over the old Bewleys in Grafton Street than see another chain-store clothes shop go in to it.

CBD has been a success in the old Georges Street Bewleys, and I’d reckon they’d do very well in Grafton Street too.

From the various reports, Gerry, it seems to be the preferred option of both companies.. with Bewley’s maintaining a commercial interest in the Grafton Street premises as well.
