It WAS the Brits wot done it!

Sunday Times carries a story by David Leppard claiming that the head of MI5, Eliza Manningham-Buller, has told a parliamentary committee that it was MI5 who placed that bug in SF HQ.
MI5 boss admits bugging Adams

Well, let’s be honest, it never did bear the hallmarks of a loyalist “Exchange & Mart” job.

But still, not insignificant to see securocrats admitting having done something against Adams et all; the first step on the road to truth and reconciliation…

Do you think Gerry might be tempted to follow suit?

  • Davros

Luckily it’s the Sunday Times or I might have to eat some humble pie 😉

  • ShayPaul

    Davros

The report has been validated by the security agencies.

I think Pat will be calling for a public “pie eat”.

    Hope you don’t get indigestion.

PS : I think you owe ma a Magners.

  • Pat Mc Larnon

This is obviously a sinister plot by securocrats to undermine the credibility of my good friend Davros.
He is right, after all it is the S Times, a paper that lost all contact with reality years ago.

  • Davros

LOL …it’s lucky I hedged my bets at the time !!!

I’d buy you a magners anyway :)Let me know when you are in South Londonderry …..

  • ShayPaul

    In 2 weeks time

    :o)

  • Pat Mc Larnon

The main follow on from this report, if true, is the fact that at the time of these discoveries SF were telling the truth on the matter and a lot of people were telling lies. Doesn’t sit too comfortably with a lot of the media spin being carried out this while back.

  • Davros

Do you know the story of the Bhoy who cried Wolf Pat ?

  • ShayPaul

    Yep Davros

The wolf ate all the sheep.

Do you know how to tell if there is a wolf about ?

Answer : Look at the sheep, they get nervous.

  • Davros

What sheep Pat ? The wolf, by your own admission, has already eaten them 😉

  • ShayPaul

    davros

    1) I’m not pat
    2) the first was an answer to your question to pat
    3) the second was advice on protecting sheep

    :o)

  • ShayPaul

    Clue

    The wolves planted the bug.

  • Davros

Sorry Shay! I’m very fond of sheep. Saw my first lambing of the year last week, a lovely Dorset.

  • James

    “I’m very fond of sheep”

I’ve never, ever, at no time, no feckin’ way wanted to interfere with the special relationship between the Irishman and his wooly buddies BUT are you wearin’ your Wellies, laddie?

I leave for a couple of days, you guys put on your boggie shoes and Bacchanal reigns.

    Where the hell was Mom?

  • maca

Now now James, no judging. We’re all different, some of us like women, some like men and some like sheep. Davros’ sexual orientation is his own business!
    ;))

  • Davros

Ahem. This disturbing trend may lead to Mick introducing a pink card for such innuendo.

  • ShayPaul

    Personally I love sheep,

    but I couldn’t eat a whole one.

  • Pat Mc Larnon

The last person I heard crying wolf Davros, followed it up with cries of the CIA and Mossad. What a embarrassing spectacle it now appears.

And we are supposed to take some people serious over their analysis of the Northern job.

  • Davros

Not strictly accurate Pat 🙂 That person said that it was quite possibly the British, but that others had the capability and the motive 🙂 That’s why I qualify so many of my posts… So that I don’t have to eat a lot of humble pie.

  • Davros

This is magnificent … After howls of indignation about unsubstantiated stories in the press, Bairbre de Brún wants SF’s best friend, Dermot Ahern, to raise … wait for it …. an unsubstantiated story in, of all the papers, the Sunday Times with Paul Murphy!

Dermot Ahern must raise MEP bugging admission report with Paul Murphy – de Brún!
