Although in general I’m not keen on the Independent’s new incarnation as a ‘views paper’ (too much views, not enough news), I have to admit they wear it better than most of their previous incarnations. This graphic from today’s front is an eloqnent argument for the diversity PR might bring to Westminster. Although as Ciaran pointed out to me yesterday, simply using STV might reprlicate the worst of clientelism that aflects the multiple member constituencies north and south.
Adds: Paddy over at Balrog has done some impressive work to arrive at how a PR election might have been more generous to the outgoing UUP leader David Trimble (and his own party’s political rivals)!
