  1. Comment on Hillsborough to provide Sinn Fein with a plausible escape from their own dismal Ministerial record?

And the argument back to Brown is we’ll walk away again, and again and… until this thing is settled in an equitable way.

So the DUP putting a block on Sinn Fein’s wants translates in to a “dismal ministerial record”. And who said SF ever wanted a stadium – that was suggested by unionists as a quid pro quo. Malachi’s poison pen at it again.

It is time SF ditched these DUP bigots and moved out of Stormont. Make them fight an election when the least want it.

It’s not about staisfying one side or the other. It’s about accomodating all sides. That’s the lesson to be taken on board by all!

Unionism is so divided I doubt you’d get 25,000 on the streets now. And an electoral vote, registered and democratic, has a force that can’t be ignored.

The Republican movement’s weaponry is its very strong electoral vote. That’s a powerful weapon that can’t be ignored.

The people of Ireland voted a majority, north and south. That was the basis of the GFA’s legitmacy.

Union: In 1918 Sinn Fein won a majority in a democratic 32 (i.e. Irish) election (tho not West Belfast!). The beginning of the rot set in when that mandate was ignored (and threatened by force of arms). I am now enough of a realist to know all must be involved in an agreement, including both governments and all parties; including unionists of all shades.

Union: The solution should be one that satisfies the people of “these islands”, and not some intransigent rump holding the rest to ransom because of some ill-perceived superiority complex. Go talk to the Afrikkners and learn how to compromise and create a life for our children and their chirldren et al.

The driver should be an overt force, democatically accountable, and not some Eton toff with a licence to drive and worse!
