Comment on Labour Party in Northern Ireland – conference on Saturday #lpniconf
on 9 March 2012 at 5:34 pm
Wow, so any party that believes the people of northern ireland should be allowed to have ‘normal’ politics are unionists? That is some of the most hate driven nonsense i have ever heard.
While I no longer share the labour party’s view on any number of subjects, especially the talentles,s self absorbed shell of a clp it has in NI, it can only be welcomed that they are finally starting to take themselves seriously and let the public have a glimpse of what they hope to achieve.
The real test will be if they can attract politically ambitious resident to fight the cause with them instead the current group that are effectively at a stalemate with their HQ.

Comment on Green Party NI conference, the visit of Alex Attwood, and criticism of MLAs who can’t read or believe the speeches written for them

Awk now B-dog, everyone knows you were fundraising for Alliance in the months coming up to the election. And why you still want to be a member of a party you had so little respect for will baffle everyone who reads this.

Comment on And the #belw11 winners were … Paul Maskey (26% of the electorate) and the EONI (165 minutes)

lol I love how this always break down into an Alliance bitch fest.
Given that West Belfast is one of the most deprived areas in Europe, I look forward to the newly elected MP working hard to bring jobs and… wait, who am I kidding.
WB votes for no change, and no change is what it will get.

While I feel the writer of this piece is trying to do some good, most of the time raising it’s profile in such a way usually leads to more people supporting it.
But, considering he is an aspiring liberal politician I guess he needs a ‘feel good’ cause to leach off.

Comment on The defeat of the PUP and Dawn Purvis
on 9 May 2011 at 9:06 pm
Lets face Dawn Purvis for what she is – a failed political operator.
I may be a but negative towards politicians at the best of time, but it was for everyone to see, that when she left the PUP following the UVF murder it was purely in the hope that it would seal her re-election. It didn’t.
She canvassed with Long last year, effectivly loaning her a few votes thinking people would see her as a big thinker and more interested in the good of East Belfast and hopefully not realise Alliance would do a better job than her. They didn’t.
She took to twitter, facebook, and all the high brow political events in the hope of being seen as a modern political operative and attracting the, more often than not, niave, banner waving internet vote. She didn’t.
She thought all this would gloss over the fact that she had no real influence in East Belfast and that the working class vote had given up on her long before her departure from the PUP.
Good riddance and lets all move on to the next darling… plus, like has been previously said, she’ll be given some over paid public sector role that will bleed us all dry just that little bit quicker..

Comment on Catching up with Steven Agnew (Green Party) #ae11 #lg11 #ndo11

I’m still keen to know why their old MLA, Wilson, is still a member of the Greens but is standing as a independant at council level and was fund raising for his wife at Alliance events.
Plus, why is it that the Greens, for the first time in recent memory not feilding a candidate in North Belfast?

Comment on Progressive Unionist Party launch manifesto with titanic pledges

I consider myself british but in no manner does that mean I support a monarchy. For me, a truely democratic state allows a citizen to reach the highest position in the nation.
Sadly as I wasn’t born into a rather.. strange family such as the royals it will never happen

Comment on Cadogan Enright talks up the Green Party in South Down (#ae11 #sdo11)
on 19 April 2011 at 10:54 am
I still don’t get why Wilson is standing as an independent if he is still a member of the greens?
Either way I wish them luck even tho they decided to treat north Belfast as a lepard colony and won’t stand a candidate there for the first time ever.
