Given the perception of tight central control by Sinn Fein ,is it not surprising that such a letter would have been issued in the name of an M L A.Either it’s a case (as F J H has suggested )of the party losing its usual sure touch or else an attitude of arrogance that it can get away with almost anything.

  2. Comment on Sinn Féin to the fore for the photo, to the rear of the movement
    on 12 April 2014 at 10:07 pm

The headline seems entirely apposite. Not content with merely being among the crowd at the protest, the S F politicians always seem to have the knack of positioning themselves at the forefront of any grouping. No doubt this is purely accidental and has nothing to do with any potential photo opportunities!!Of course it really illustrates the contempt that the party has for the electorate knowing that it can ride several horses at once and not suffer any lessening of support.

As per usual,no doubt the code of omertà will apply.Given the sensitivity of the case, presumably it will be handled with more assuredness than Gormley’s action.

I noted that Martina Anderson and Raymond Mc Cartney were beside Martin when he spoke to the media today. It appears that they at least are backing his stance.

Since you seem to be privy to the views of the Mc Conville family on this charge,I presume you were present in court today.

Could Prof Greenslades lack of transparency for a long period have anything to do with the bombings in England ?He may have thought it wise not to publicise his affection for the Republican cause during that period.

  10. Comment on Why did no one in Sinn Fein tell the Ballymurphy families the Para’s could borrow Adams’ ‘public interest’ defence?
    on 5 March 2014 at 7:25 pm

Have the laws on “man playing” on Slugger been relaxed? Sean Tracey’s comment at 5-32 pm seems pretty pointed and uncalled for.It represents a mindset that Sinn Fein must always have a monopoly of concern for campaigns such as Ballymurphy and Bloody Sunday.Apparently other parties and individuals are not encouraged to comment!
