The only interest in preserving the union is because its looks good,
and serves grandstanding on the world stage:
“we’re very proud of the UK, GB, blah blah blah ”
privately it costs english taxpayers a fortune to maintain
but Tory MP’s and shire counties folk can afford it.
the mentality is exactly the same as with India,
the raj, colonialism, europhobia etc
divide and rule as diane abbot says , oops PC brigade alert !

Ms McArdle has been given a high-powered well paid job.
To meet with ann travers, and face the music is leadership.
Within the proper setting, an enormous amount can be achieved,
in terms of reconciliation and understanding.
To face your accuser, lower yourself and take the hurt/anger is a sincere act of contrition;
both parties feel released from their burdens.
That’s the beauty of meeting with open hearts and minds
A space is opened where respect and even admiration can take place ,
but especially love
Ann, that’s completely reasonable and essential for you.
A good and trusted mediator is one possible avenue.

when archbishop desmond tutu brought together
victims and perpetrators.
