Comment on Trouble at t’Mill for Frau Nein?

German Ascendencies do have a history of coming back down, sometimes with a bump.
Perhaps its time for the rest of the Europeans to let the Germans know that the European Union (and the Euro) are not just for Germanys benefit.

A bridge too far for Ulster but they have come on in great strides this year.
They have some very promising young players behind the scrum i.e. Gilroy, Jackson, Darcy.
Its great for Irish rugby to have Ulster on the up. Hopefully Munster can rebuild and that Connaught can also improve.
Surely Ireland with Kidney have to attempt to play the Leinster way. The question is whether Kidney has it in him to evolve from his tried and trusted (and now unfortunately out of date) way of playing.

Comment on François Hollande is President of the French Republic
on 7 May 2012 at 8:45 am
We must admire the enthuisiasm the French have for actually turning out to vote.
Do they have that much faith in their politicians to actually do something.
Alas I have lost the little faith that I had in British or Irish Politicians to effect anything in even the the most miniscule way.

If a caged hen in an egg factory can be a share holder then maybe we are all shareholders in one way or another.
The bankers keep demanding their eggs except they want smaller and smaller cages and less chicken feed for the battery hens.

If a country was being run properly would the carry-on that has been going on at many football clubsbe allowed.
Its not surprising that the banks use goverments as muppets when the so called business that run football clubs actually run financial riot.

Beyond the united Ireland project I don’t believe that Sinn Féin are tied too strongly to ideology.
If FF cannot see a recovery in their fortunes then they will to look to other options. These are an accomodtion with the Labour party or with Sinn Féin.
I believe that Sinn Fein and FF are more compatible than than FF and the Labour party.

If things keep going the way they are for FF then I can see a FF rump coming to some accomodation with Sinn Féin. The big question is whether Sinn Féin will have any interest in this accomodation with FF.
It depends if Sinn Féin continue their progress and whether Sinn Féin are willing to have patience and gamble until 2016 to see if they can attain the position that FF once had.
