Yes, I remember well back in the early 70s there was a poor sugar cane harvest somewhere and the government put out a statement that there were adequate supplies and that people shouldn’t hoard. At the end of the following day the sugar shelves in the stores were empty.

When I lived there it was simply an evening paper with the first edition hitting the streets around 3 o’clock.

I’m a tad fed up with the number of programs about it on TV here. Especially the theories such as inferior rivets. I’ll let everyone know the real reason the ship foundered – it crashed into an iceberg.

I doubt that part of the specifications for the ship included the requirement to be able to survive a collision with an iceberg.

I believed from the start that Hain’s remarks were totally uncalled for and suggested that he might be charged with contempt of court.
