No chance. If she rejoined, the gravy train carriages would be plain for all to see.And we don’t want that.
She is ‘getting better’, from her ‘illness’. Peter is making sure she gets the best ‘treatment’ for her ‘illness’.
Like fellow sufferers Tiger Woods and Ryan Giggs, we cannot imagine her torment. Only hope that like them, she recovers from her ‘illness’.

I don’t know anything about so called ‘loyalist’ paramilitaries.
But I know what they did. Same as ‘republican’ paramilitaries, who may be of higher calibre, in your view. I put them all in the same calibre.

The Alliance view on the murder of Ms Travers.
Her father was a judge, an Uncle Tom, maybe he (and his daughter) ‘deserved’ it.
They (SF) could have picked some superhero-in their view- who had survived a shootout with the SAS or something. Still wrong but, ya know.
They chose someone who murdered a 22 year old girl leaving mass.
And Alliance go ‘fair play to you girl’ sure the prods can be as bad. and *hint* maybe she (Mary Travers) did have some responsibility for her own death.

be interested to hear your opinions on the new ‘culture’ minister speaking tonight, Caral Ní Chuilín , I thought she was dreadful and an SF voting friend thought likewise. She spoke like it was 1981. I’ve noted this occasionally from DUP/UUP politicians but this was different. A 2 fingers to the present set up.
Maybe it’s just sectarian jousting on a base level, but the idea we are in a new dispensation now is being shown as a hollow one.
Shoot and kill a 22 year old innocent woman leaving mass.
Regard as excellent result.
Get £80,000 a year ‘job’ as reward.
Carlsberg don’t do murder award ceremonies…but if they did..
SF must have known this appointment would cause some outrage and ruffle feathers among the Executive. Gerry Kelly waffled embarrassingly about her ‘ability’ being an ex ‘political prisoner’ and thus the skills for the highly paid job (80k) at DCAL. Then his phone went dead, probably a technical hitch.
Lots of sickened people at work today, many of them nationalists.
The DUP (and UUP /Alliance /SDLP response:
Robinson has virtually ignored the issue. He ‘tweeted’ that it was all a bit sad and gave the impression he wished Anne Travers should keep quiet. What have SF got on him that he hasn’t the balls to say what much of his party must be thinking?
Pathetic.

Dunno how much it was in but Carling will not be sponsoring another one.
76000 at Old Trafford for the Giggs and Imogen tribute puts it in perspective.
Only watched brief intervals of the match between the horse racing. It looked crap. Were there 3000 there in total? More watching the Giggs testimonial match at Old Trafford I would think. Pity Imogen wasn’t doing nets for NI.
This was a book that I first reviewed at the same time as “Unionism Decayed” back in 2008. Like Vance’s work, it is the author’s portrayal of a defeated political movement or ideal and as a Unionist it was instructional to read an interpretation of the immediate post-Agreement period from the other side of the fence. How has Ulster unionism arrived at where it is today – fractured and uncertain, yet dominated electorally by the DUP, a party that tells us it offers unionists sure footing in uncertain times? In his latest book, Ulster’s Last Stand? Reconstructing Unionism after the Peace Process (Irish Academic Press, 2010), Prof. James McAuley from the [...] read our review »
What was life like for children of political activists during the Troubles? A new book by Bill Rolston and published by Guildhall Press during the summer has collected together the stories of twenty Children of the Revolution whose parents’ activities – and in many cases, imprisonment – had a significant affect on childhoods and life [...] read our review »

Just quoting what you wrote, you obviously agree with the appointment. Up to you to justify it.
