Comment on Team Martin McAuley for North Belfast…
on 19 April 2010 at 11:28 pm
Seen these eejits getting their photo taken on Sunday at the back of the Belfast Telegraph.
I immediately thought they were some sort of strange American religious sect on a visit to Belfast, what with their suits and Afros.
A mate told me McAuley’s family is originally from the New Lodge, don’t know if it’s true, but he seems to think it is.
The gang will be lucky to get their deposit back, I predict less than 100 votes, but at least they’re giving it a shot.

So Nevin, if a man with an English accent phoned you three times with death threats what would you do?
Oh yeah, phone the cops. Strange that.
Dick.

By his own admission Bobby has or has been involved in the murders of 14 people.
A real stand up guy.

Mark McGregor – the man who described the Newry bomb as “small and ineffecutal”.
There’s no chance of anyone graffiting the walls of the Royal about yourself.
Pity that – because it wouldn’t have taken much spray print. D-I-C-K is only four letters.

Stop the Press – graffiti on a wall slegs a Shinner. Outrage!
The most noteworthy thing is that Malachi seems to have eventually venuted into west Belfast and took a photo of his endeavours. Mission accomplished Mal!

Mark McGregor wins the award for biggest bullshitter on Slugger after this gem in his intro: “In the wake of the small and ineffectual bomb in Newry”.
Try telling that to those that were minutes away from death and the traders who will lose out in thousands of pounds of business.
And wasn’t the bomb bigger than that which killed 29 at Omagh, small, eh Mark?

The criticism of Eoin is unfair. Used to see him every other night going into the New Lodge flats with his partner.
Seemed like a good bloke.

Comment on Whatever happened to Gerry McGeough?
on 10 February 2010 at 3:55 am
Mark, you might not be aware but Gerry McGeough’s case is the subject of a media ban.
A Crown Court judge placed reporting restrictions on the proceedings some time ago – hence the lack of newspaper coverage.
Hope this clears things up.

DC – What have been the big local stories of 2010?
Iris Robinson affair – broke by Spotlight
Robinson resigns – broke by TV
Peadar Heffron – TV again
Gerry Admas/Liam Adams – Sunday Tribune
People on here who think Slugger sets the news agenda are kissing their own holes.
This is a great wee blog for opinion, gossip and the odd bit of news, but nothing else. Don’t kid yourself.
