  1. Comment on Is unionism more nationalist then Irish nationalism?
    on 29 August 2009 at 5:23 pm

conail. unionists seem to settle on a line to take on this and other matters, only after having worked out which option would wrongfoot republicans or even nationalists generally.
They wouldn’t want to be seen to give any comfort to ‘themmuns’ so if ‘themmuns’ think it’s a good thing, it must be bad for unionists.
this doesn’t seem to motivate nationalists to such a degree.

‘they want to have something as an equal and opposite force to irish’

seceder. Got it in one. the fact fact that no such entity exists is immaterial to campbell, laird nerd, etc, as long as they can get money out of brussels to waste on it fine. i take you’re not referring to willie frazer, as i think he’d be for it for the spite value alone.

gael gan nire… it is richly ironic is it not, that the ‘language’ that these dup freeloaders, use to deny their own irish heritage, is itself dependent for it’s ‘existence’ on the irish language itself,
This metamorphosis took place via the derivative Scots Gaelic speaker’s collision with the English language while still in scotland, and then post plantation, over here. You couldn’t make it up.

  4. Comment on Victims Commissioners backed Eames/Bradley payments to victims…
    on 7 August 2009 at 2:36 pm

    fair deal…msg 7
the fact that four victims commissioners are doing the job of one is enough evidence to condemn the whole circus at stormont. there are surely enough quangos already in existence to handle that remit. the polititicos up there just like puffing themselves up to their full height to express their own impotance, while it’s all a glorified parish council whose powers could be stripped by westminster/dublin tomorrow, just as with ted heath stripping the old stormont with a stroke of the pen in 1972.

DD i certainly do not want to see sunny jim in power. what i wanted was for him to take enough votes to undermine his former party and reduce the dup back to where it was before the 2005 westminster election. that’s the mischief i was referring to. some of those nine seats have small majorities so would be vulnerable. the uup could get them back as before.
