NEWSFLASH The plotters in the SDLP are already planning Margaret Ritchie’s replacement as leader by Pol Callaghan. Margaret only got in on an ABA ( anyone but Alistair) ticket and is seen as a temporary holder of the office. That’s why the pwers that be made sure Pol was picked as a candidate for the assembly by dogging Pat Ramsey on the side. Now that Pol is picked Pat is offered an extra place as an olive branch.
Oh the machinations wortht of Bertie at his worst.
You read it here first it will happen after the next Assembly election!!!!!

You will never find out the names of the big “savers”. They also haven’t told us that many savers hold both large and small accounts, a huge overlap. No small savers here. Also won’t tell us that it was set up in then 70′s as a fund to ensure Presbyterians could get capital to keep border land in Protestant hands. Also haven’t mentioned that many “savers” live in Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal. Fund run totally illegally by those managing it with savers benefitting big time from illegal activities for years ( everybody kept schtum) bur when the sh-t hits the fan it’s the government and regulators fault. This was no credit union but a rich Protestant Club no matter what type of spin they try to put on it.!! Thanks |Martin Mc Guinness for bending over backwards and taking it up the you know what. Obsequiousness gets you nowhere and earns contempt instead of respect from these people – wise up Martin!!. They must be having a good laugh at you.
Sinn Fein ask nothing embarrassing off their buddy Peter and then do this

whether you like hsis policies or not at least he is connsistent. We wont have to worry about him claiming expenses for flats or houses whether rented from friendly landlords or bought outright.
As for the oath which is worse taking an oath or providing cover for Peter and the Swishes by keeping your mouth shut and thereby also keeping yourself in power at all costs!!! Principles over Pragmatism, a phrase used to excuse ditching all principlesdoes anyone remember how precious and important Articles 2 and 3 were or so we were told by the people who in nthe same breath told us that really they dont mean anything!!!!

  4. Comment on Robinson: “They have not laid a glove on me…”
    on 28 March 2010 at 6:36 pm

The only thing Peter has to worry about is if there was a Moriarty or Flood style inquiry into his finances going back 20 years with full aceess to all his declared income and bank accounts and access to all his expenditure including capital over the 20 years. Then the sums would be done .
SF know a ll about how the DUP especially in Castlereagh operate but not solely there but want to protect thm to stay in power themselves. they aint gonna be asking the right questions just going through the motions instead!!! we have seen this with the Knock Golf Course Scandal

    on 26 March 2010 at 3:29 am

Yeah she sounds like a right olf gem!!! If right wing bureaucrats like her had had their way people would still be getting killed on a daily basis here!!! She is just what any country needs to develop a peace procss. If she was so interested in sleaze and criminality she could have looked no further than her own parliament and banking structures, never mind the backhanders to get massive defence contracts to supply the military in the wars abroad of which I am sure he approved!!! Give me a break mentioning her in the same page as someone with integrity and humanity such as Nuala O Loan is disgusting The old goat was of the they don’t like it up them dad’s army mentality. No loss to anyone

Prediction. She will be by far the worst leader of the SDLP. She has no idea how to behave. she lacks common sense. She is a car crash waiting to happen. If not supervised by more experienced , more sensible party members she will say something outrageous . Nothing to do with her being a woman, no sexism, it’s just her lack of common sense as a human being. Anyone else if feeling sidelined would have lobbied the US Dept od State in private. I take no pleasure in saying this as a Republican. We have The SDLP in terminal decline and Sinn Fein in government with probably the most corrupt party ever in power in any part of Ireland( and that takes some doing given Fianna Fail’s record!!) and doing all they can to keep the DUP and therefore themselves in power. How the hell did we get to this sad situation???

  7. Comment on Arlene Foster offers to stand aside
    on 15 March 2010 at 4:55 am

Great to see that Arlene is minded to do that for the sake of the umionist cause. The DUP are so principled and work so hard at creating very close relationships with the business community all for the sake of helping Norn Iron prosper.
They help so many people to get houses!!!

  8. Comment on Arlene Foster, HMS Warspite and shoes
    on 16 January 2010 at 4:49 am

Arlene is a female Peter Robinson (old type) who has a brass neck and who tries to intimidate reporters. Remember when she was “minded” to give the contract for the Causeway Visitor’s Centre to Ian Junior’s mate Seymour Sweeney. She was also the person behind the attempted theft of the Telehouse from Derry and its relocation to Coleraine. Seems even with all her legal training that she couldn’t understand the original proposal on which funding was granted which stated that it was to be in Derry.. She tried to brass neck that one too in true DUP fashion until threatened with legal action.
NEW BROOM I don’t think so!!!

  9. Comment on Peter does human again
    on 16 January 2010 at 1:57 am

Selwyn is next for the journalists. They have been very slow. Who was his boss in the City Council? Did that person have a connection with Iris and her views? With whom is Selwyn in a relationship? How did that come about? Who was her previous partner? How was he viewed at UU?
Why did he leave? The journalists are probably asking these questions now.
More importantly why has no politician asked for a full enquiry into the Robinson’s finances for the past 20 years with access to all bank accounts everywhere and all financial dealings?
They have left it to journalists to demand these things.
Sinn fein of old would have demanded such an inquiry. Now all they are fixated is keeping Stormont going at any price. Are they so in love with power ?( well the very limited amount that the DUP has allowed them in that uneven relationship. ) We have seen the DUP demand an enquiry into Gerry Adam’s role in the Liam Adam’s affair whils SF were supine about the Robinson Financial scandal. They need to rediscover their cohones!!!!

  10. Comment on The political logic says Peter should stay if he’s cleared
    on 13 January 2010 at 12:28 am

You are spot on. The DUP fear the financial and planning transactions of the DUP/Robinson controlled Council for the past 20 yhears being examined forensically. Developers are not known for their charitable natures nor are estate agents. If they give they need to be sure that they will get more back in return. Peter robinson has been very wealthy for a long long time- long before he had all those posts and access to all those expenses. Remember Charlie Haughey, for years no one asked how he could afford to buy an island on a Taoiseach’s wages. you just need one unhappy or weak person to start the avalanche. Follow the money, ignore the sex, ignore the smokescreen Fraser’s esatae representatives stated that they never expected the money back. What spin. Loans??? Who believes that. Peter saw that in this case there was the paper trail and acted in his own interests.
He aint stupid and didn’t get where he is by being stupid. Cheques what were they thinking of the amateurs!!!
