Correction to thsi comment you have just made about me “Surely Christy, as a serious commentator and thinker, you need to take a look at yourself for your willingness to believe all this guy was insinuating about protestant attitudes.”
I did not, I would not, insinuate any such thing about Protestants –not only to do so would insult people with which I have great regard but would be against my grain.
I insinuated nothing in fact –I made objection to specific nasty sectarian remark from one individual and defended or excused by others.

You are a decietful one.
You made wild assertions about me and I copy here what I suggested to you to go back and read rather than you continue making wild allegations. “I do not advocate the murder of anyone and I never have –not military personel or anyone period.” (6 April 2011 at 10:47 pm)
Regardless if Mr Brush posted or someone from Nationa Front posted caliming toi be him YOU and anumber of other in house bloggers were defending the anti catholic sentiment being expressed.
I hope that is the ‘end of’ from you.

If I recall –as I post under my own name –there was a little more scrutiny applied before I became a registered poster of Slugger. I would therefore find it very surprising that Mick Fealty would have been less vigilant to the possibility to anyone using a living NI politicians details as would be the case here?

I await further confirmation.
But before this person posted many of you have been bending over backward excusing Mr Brushes original sectarian quip.

Dear Mr Brush
Thank you for clarifying your remark toward me.
I would support your defence against any libellous comments made agianst you as a matter of proper order.
I find your reference to “this Protestant country of ours.” to be somewhat worrisome given your strongly held anti Catholic senitment.
I also note that you now conceed that Catholics may have been “hurt or injured by actions of the UDR”. I would query your lack of knowledge about that especially as you then go one to defend all or any wrong done by the UDR as the fault of pesky Catholics having “brought it on themselves and it was entirely justified.”
As distrubing as I find your remarks I must again commend you for your honesty –it is all too often lacking in Northern Ireland.

Dear Mr Brush
I quote; “You sir are on dangerous grounds.”
I hope you are not threatening me?
I take you at your word that you did not kill anyone of any religion and in particular any pesky catholics.
I also note your rather dishonest, or blinkered, assertion about the UDR’s role as an unruley sectarian bamd of brothers.

“I protected the majority of law abiding citizens from the onslaught of Catholic aggression.”
Thank you for your honesty it is refreshing. I had wondered that perhaps you may not have intended to sound as sectarian as you did in your original post so you now clarify that you did intende to be. The question now is did your role in the UDR include murdering or helping others to murder catholics?

All reasonable debate is clearly being avoided or undermined -not least by two resident Bloggers on Slugger. It is no accident that the balance of Bloggers permitted to write on Slugger are generally of pale Unionist persuasion trying hard to come across as ‘moderates’ –occassionally the hard core unionist get a shot too.

I have clarified my position very well above –go back and read it –you merely repeat the same questions as others do as means to avoid answering an unsavory fact –the IRA, by whatever means, were capable of identifying members of the UDR but Mr Brush and the UDR held all catholics to account –despite your trivalising –sectarian bigotry within the UDR cost an undefined number of innocent catholics their lives –YES Granni Trixe, Mr Brush’s colleagues murdered and helped others to murder ordinary catholics at random. You, Turgon and many others have either defended Mr Brush’s sectarian bigotry, excused them, attempted to explain what he really meant to say, and generally attempted to avoid or cloud the reality of the consequnces of what UDR sectarinaism meant to Catholics lives and livelihood.

I am sure you find it as galling as I do that so many can critise the IRA for their ability for being so ‘selective’ but it is quite understandable for Mr Brush and the UDR to be sectarian bigots.
And some of those defenders of this acceptible level of bigotry have been some regular ‘moderate’ contributors to slugger.
