Comment on “Losing seats was never part of the inevitability narrative…”

As someone raised on civil rights and believing in a united democratic and socialist Ireland. I find that the idea of being potentially represented by a Tory supporter stomach churning. My option of voting for my natural party of choice has been usurped and I must now against both the Tory and someone who would have been an excellent candidate had they stood as just an MLA.

Comment on Sinn Fein offer for Nationalist Pact spurned
on 14 April 2010 at 4:43 am
I was born and raised a moderate nationalist. My parents took part in the civil rights marches and campaigns of the 60′s and 70′s and yet I maybe now going to be represented by a Tory supporting candidate. I’m saddened to think that I would rather not vote or even lend my vote to another party to stop this happening.

Civil Rights leaders were some of the first people to be targeted in this way. For anyone who is genuine about trying to understand this method of character assassination, look no further that Bloody Sunday and the readiness of the media then to report false allegations as part of the disinformation campaign against those murdered.

Isn’t there here which is being overlooked? Someone funded research in which a former IRA member has made allegations about other people. The person making those allegations is dead, The other people are still alive. So my question is – how can any of this be corroborated?

Comment on Arlene Foster offers to stand aside
on 16 March 2010 at 4:41 am
After hearing Arlene declaring that she would step aside for an agreed unionist there is a real danger that the sitting MP would be replaced by a puppet for the Orange Order. If that is what the SDLP and Ferghal McKinney acheive by splitting the vote, then I for one will never forgive them.
