Slab Murphy arrested….

Worth mention, but there are precious few details to go with this news yet, but Thomas ‘Slab’ Murphy has been arrested by the Gardai… He was briefly taken to hospital, but is now back in Dundalk Police Station…

  6. Gosh, i really hope that poor Mr Murphy is not too sick. Being ill and arrested in one day must be a thorouoghly unpleasant experience. And him such a nice man.

  18. Completely random thought but why has Murphy been arrested at this time? I very much doubt that the governments (let alone the DUP) want reminded about Mr. Quinn’s death but might there be a link between the timing of Murphy’s arrest and trying to demonstrate that the gardai want proper cooperation about Mr. Quinn’s murder? As I say a random thought.

Here’s another random thought re Cullyhanna. Nicknames are family-generic rather than personal around here. They are used to distinguish between the very many families called Murphy, descendants of the Mac Muircheadh driven from Tyrone by the Dungannon O’Neills in the 1340s, and given refuge and land by the O’Neills of the Fews around what is now Ballsmill-Glasdrummond. So there are the Whoppers and the Paramours (great story there) and the Corneys and so on. But back to the Slabs - there are several and since only one has demonstrated that he can’t win a libel case I can say no more.

  23. All the blood on this scumbags hands and the best the legal system in the ROI can do is arrest him for tax evasion. I suppose its an improvement from the ROIs counterparts in NI who would have ensured that he was in government with Unionists simply having to accept it.

Regardless of this he is likely to get off with this crime as he has with all others at best he will get his wrists slapped and a fine.

The ARMY COUNCIL are demanding that the people they now describe as embarrassments in the South Armagh Brigade are brought to task over the MURDER of this kid who did nothing more than stand up to a Deisel Thug!

4 Former Long Kesh RPOWs (including a well-known snipper) are said to be directly involved in the kids murder and I wonder will the licences of these Provo thugs be revoked or do they get to continue to kill, rob and steal

Was this what hundreds of Real Republicans died for?
