Slab Murphy arrested….
Worth mention, but there are precious few details to go with this news yet, but Thomas ‘Slab’ Murphy has been arrested by the Gardai… He was briefly taken to hospital, but is now back in Dundalk Police Station…
Mick Fealty @ 09:39 AM
A few more details here, Mick.
But, of course, he’s not a criminal..
Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 10:33 AMmore interesting and worrying is the shooting of the PSNI fficer in Derry
Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 10:47 AMoh yeah
Or the other children in the area when someone dicharges a shotgun outside a school
or people like the rape victin Derry who might hope that the police would be able to devote their resources to capturing her attacker
or catholics hurt in the predictable retaliation by whoever
and so on
Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 11:06 AMoh yeah is a well known troll.
(Hint) He really hates being ignored.Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 11:23 AMJohn
Its a troll, ignore.Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 11:23 AMGosh, i really hope that poor Mr Murphy is not too sick. Being ill and arrested in one day must be a thorouoghly unpleasant experience. And him such a nice man.
Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 11:23 AMdid Gerry A not call Slab a “good Republican”??
if so is gerry going to be lodging a complaint against the garda for “political policing” and harrassment of innocent republicans??or is sinn fein washing their hands of the old warhorse,
or is slab now just a “criminal element”
Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 11:23 AMthe only people with anything to worry about john, are the innocent people who will be getting their homes trashed today by the ruc/psni
Posted by oh yeah on Nov 08, 2007 @ 10:52 AMhead just a bit far up your arse mate?

Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 04:07 PMIf he is only allowed one phone call maybe he could try the Paisley lads.
Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 04:35 PMOut on bail of 70k Euros - whatever you feel about him (and for keeping SA in process must get some credit)the bail level seems a little low.
Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 08:58 PMbet slab regrets the whole decommissioning thing now, someone get him the yellow pages
Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 09:46 PMwell at leat he was in ardee court house.
some end up in the cullyhanna courthouse. no bail there
Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 10:33 PMCompletely random thought but why has Murphy been arrested at this time? I very much doubt that the governments (let alone the DUP) want reminded about Mr. Quinn’s death but might there be a link between the timing of Murphy’s arrest and trying to demonstrate that the gardai want proper cooperation about Mr. Quinn’s murder? As I say a random thought.
Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 10:35 PMInteresting thought nonetheless, Turgon.
Posted by on Nov 08, 2007 @ 11:11 PMCriminal assets probe - (another) man arrested in Dundalk area

Here’s another random thought re Cullyhanna. Nicknames are family-generic rather than personal around here. They are used to distinguish between the very many families called Murphy, descendants of the Mac Muircheadh driven from Tyrone by the Dungannon O’Neills in the 1340s, and given refuge and land by the O’Neills of the Fews around what is now Ballsmill-Glasdrummond. So there are the Whoppers and the Paramours (great story there) and the Corneys and so on. But back to the Slabs - there are several and since only one has demonstrated that he can’t win a libel case I can say no more.Posted by on Nov 09, 2007 @ 11:52 AMTHURSDAY, 8 NOVEMBER 2007
Leading Irish Republican arrested on Tax charges
http://organizedrage.blogspot.com/2007/11/leading-irish-republican-arrested-on.html
Posted by on Nov 09, 2007 @ 02:03 PMAll the blood on this scumbags hands and the best the legal system in the ROI can do is arrest him for tax evasion. I suppose its an improvement from the ROIs counterparts in NI who would have ensured that he was in government with Unionists simply having to accept it.
Regardless of this he is likely to get off with this crime as he has with all others at best he will get his wrists slapped and a fine.

The ARMY COUNCIL are demanding that the people they now describe as embarrassments in the South Armagh Brigade are brought to task over the MURDER of this kid who did nothing more than stand up to a Deisel Thug!
4 Former Long Kesh RPOWs (including a well-known snipper) are said to be directly involved in the kids murder and I wonder will the licences of these Provo thugs be revoked or do they get to continue to kill, rob and steal
Was this what hundreds of Real Republicans died for?
Posted by on Nov 09, 2007 @ 05:04 PMhow do u know he s being questioned over the quinn murder????
