“Simply a judicial process..”

I’m not entirely clear why the BBC report describes the hearing at Belfast Recorder’s Court as the launch of “a second legal bid” to extradite Roisin McAliskey.  She’s currently on bail after being arrested in May this year on a European Arrest Warrant and, despite the “political talks between the British and German sides on how to deal with this thing”, the execution of such warrants is supposed to be “simply a judicial process.” Update From this BBC report

Judge Tom Burgess said he would deliver a reasoned and written judgement as quickly as possible.

  1. So strange this case.Could it be just the case of a sterotypical dedicated German beaurocrat getting the old files closed. In view of what’s happened elsewhere and the original CPS recomendation scarcely believable that it’s going ahead.
