Shoukri bail conditions relaxed
With very little detail available, except for a short note on the BBC’s News in Brief, it difficult to know the reasons behind the decision by Mr Justice Weatherup to alter the bail conditions of Ihab Shoukri to allow him to return to Northern Ireland. At the end of January Shoukri was granted bail on condition that he lived at an approved address in England because of “ongoing threats to his life” - from the ‘good’ mainstream UDA - and presumably, as in a previous case, concern over the police manpower needed to protect him. Now the bail condition is that he must stay out of Belfast.

North Belfast loyalist Ihab Shoukri is being allowed to return to Northern Ireland after a High Court judge ended his enforced stay in England.
The 33-year-old is accused of membership of the UDA and UFF.He was released on bail in January on condition that he lived in England after the court was told about death threats.
Mr Justice Weatherup warned Shoukri about concerns for his saftey and has ordered him to stay out of Belfast.
